Workshop:

Payment Services Directive / SEPA Workshop

This full day interactive workshop will help banking professionals examine  business and compliance issues raised by the Payment Services Directive and  discuss the impact on your cards business across the various business areas.

Commenting on this development, the Internal Market and Services Commissioner, Charlie McCreevy said "A coherent legal framework for cross-border payments is an essential part of making SEPA a reality. Now that the PSD has been published, Member States need to deliver on their commitment to implement this crucial Directive by 1 November 2009 at the latest."

This workshop will be helpful for members in their dealings with the national implementation of the PSD which will take place over the course of 2008.

In the context of new European regulations (the Payment Services Directive of 05/12/2007 and the SEPA program), European Payment Solutions takes profit of an unique momentum to come up with an innovative approach in the payment card market: a more merchant oriented modern and SEPA compliant payment tool, PayFair. This European payment scheme focused on debit cards can be combined with a lot of other interesting functionalities and an attractive alternative for low value transactions, already ready for new technological applications (contact less, mobile and e-payments, fingerprint). It will give consumers more convenience with less cards in their wallet and better control on their personal data, offer merchants a more affordable payment alternative and practical loyalty scheme access, and provide banks with an ideal tool to offer attractive services to their customers while decreasing efficiently expensive cash transactions: a “win-win-win” solution. Pilot starts in Q2,2009, first roll out in Q3,2009. www.payfair.eu
