Oil & Gas

Event summary:

The safety and reliability of hydrocarbon transport infrastructures has a crucial role in the security of hydrocarbon supply world-wide.

Issues concerned with pipeline system reliability are a huge concern as existing major pipelines are reaching the end of their original life-expectancy period, and therefore requiring more maintenance, or the consideration of replacement.

Major risks constantly challenge the safety and reliability of pipeline systems, including human error, natural disasters and terrorist attacks. The repercussions of these risks are vast with potential danger to human life, the environment and the economies of the transited regions.

Even though each system operates in a specific geographical and economic environment, there are many common issues which all operators face regardless of their location. For instance corrosion in high-pressure gas transmission lines. It is as much of a source of concern for Eastern Europe as it is for South America. These very issues constitute the topics of this conference.

A global forum to debate the current issues in pipeline integrity and maintenance is highly necessary for companies in the operating business to share experience among themselves and learn from some of the World’s leading pipeline operators how to best adapt advanced management solutions to specific regulatory and technical environments. Also, a comparison of standards applicable in different business environments and regions is highly desirable as there is currently a trend towards unifying regulatory frameworks for ever larger regions (Europe, North America, South America).

This forum will provide a productive exchange of best practice experiences from leading operators concerning pipeline maintenance and reliability!
