The government of any country is the biggest producer of data and information. In fact the Government’s business consists of data processing and using information within its own departments for decision making, policy management as well as disseminating it in public for the benefit of the citizens. The Advent of ICT has enabled Governments to have citizens participate in governance. Though still evolving in application worldwide , the use of Information Technology in Governance is paying off not just Governments but their citizenry by providing them with ease, transparency, connectivity and visibility.
In the light of these facts, following the success of its First Edition, The 2nd Annual IT for Government Summit is designed to provide a common platform for experts, government officials and delegates to share their experiences, research ideas and discuss various related issues and challenges.

The 'IT for Government 2011', which was organized by Fleming Gulf and was held under the Patronage of “The Emirates e-Government“ received an extremely enthusiastic and encouraging response from the participants and witnessed great success despite it‘s first annual in the pipeline of Fleming Gulf 'IT for Government” events.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank His Excellency Salem Khamis Al Shair Al Suwaidi, Director General, Emirates e-Government for inaugurating the conference and delivering a keynote address.
